Read the RANGEL SILAEV Interview below and share it on social media.

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

My name is Rangel Silaev, I'm a 17-year-old classical pianist, composer, and music producer. I've been making music since I was 5 years old and currently, I'm studying in the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, the Netherlands. Since 5 years I developed a great interest in electronic music, and right now I'm making both Electronic Dance Music, as well as cinematic music, all combined with my classical piano background. As of right now, I'm making music 24/7, participating in a lot of big projects, giving loads of concerts and developing a very new, unique cinematic music show project.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

Like I said before, I started when I was around 5 years old. My mum always played the piano, which really fascinated me, and that's why I started taking piano lessons. Because I was always so full of energy and passion, I grew really fast, and at the age of 10, I got accepted into the Conservatory in Tilburg. Of course, it was still the pre-education because I was still in elementary school (yeah that's really early). Anyways, I was kind of the 'special kid' in class because I was always the youngest, and people thought I was crazy because I was taking music so seriously at such a young age, but I never felt that way, I just did what I liked most and got the most out of it. A few years passed, I hit puberty and started getting interests in other kinds of music, especially electronic music. It fascinated me how someone could create a whole track out of thin air using only a laptop. I downloaded Fruity Loops (one of the most used digital audio workstations) and just started screwing around basically. Because of my musical background, I never had troubles with writing melodies or chords. Soon I came across cinematic music too which was mindblowing. For me, cinematic music was the perfect combination of classical music and electronic music. I could use my classical background to create music electronically, and even perform them live, using a piano in combination with an orchestra or ensemble. So in a nutshell, that's how I got to where I am now. My biggest motivation was always to keep exploring and to not focus on the successes of other people. I was always the person who just did what they like most, and not care about others. Don't try to be like someone else, be yourself, find your own style and your own passion that only you can do best.

What´s new right now?

Right now, I'm making more music than ever. I'm working on combining all my different fields into one big, new project. So I mean that I want to combine my piano skills together with my electronic music, and that's why I'm working on some huge cinematic music projects. For me, that's really like a dream coming true. Playing a 1-hour long program with only my own music. And not just classical music or electronic music as you see now, but a combination of both. And of course, don't forget the visuals ? As far as electronic music, I had a release on future house music recently, which was my first track on a label, so that's a great milestone too. Feel free to follow me or connect with me if you're interested, I'm always up to help other people along!
