Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hi everyone! My name is Víctor Alejandro Suárez Maceda a.k.a RedKen Panda, I was born in La Paz, Bolivia and I am 23 years old. I'm a producer / DJ, focused on tropical bass and global bass.
I started producing electronic music since the end of 2013 with chiptune, in 2015 I started my career as a producer starting with moombahton.
I am part of Oi Mas Bass since the end of 2015, the largest and most experienced collective of the underground scene in Bolivia. My first EP "First Try" and second EP "Global" were released under OMB Records (Bolivia), 2016 and 2017 respectively. Happily "First Try" had a note on Cassette Blog.
Last year I had releases on several international labels such as Kumbale, Moombahton Central Recs, Wile Out, Latino Resiste / Mal Dicen, Black Llama Recs, which are incredible labels of the Tropical Bass and Global Bass scene.
For my DJ side, I love bass music, I've been playing at many parties, and local cultural festivals as well as commercial festivals. This last month, I was learning to play all kinds of music, and not just EDM.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Well, when I was a kid I used to listen to hip hop, when I was a teenager and I started listening to punk, pop punk, when I was in college I started listening to Bass Music, because I was just as aggressive as punk, like Drum and Bass and Dubstep, then I started listening to more tropical rhythms, more latin, even from underground artists in my country. I started listening to artists from Enchufada, Latino Resiste, WorldWideMx, pioneer artists like Munchi, Dillon Francis, Diplo, JSTJR.
One of my main influences at first, were the members of the collective that I belong today, especially Dj Quien.
What´s new right now?
Today I'm working on songs like Trap, Baile Funk, Zouk Bass, or hybrids, I want to get away a little bit from commercial music, explore new rhythms, always with a lot of bass and flavor! In 2019 I am planning to release my first LP, until this year I will only have singles.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
If you don't have anything other than your computer and a standard headphones to make music, the first thing to do is download asio4all at the beginning, I didn't do that, and all my songs were played saturated or crushed.

How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?
Well, the key is to come out the closet, I made several castings, I publish mixtapes of different genres, and I share them on Facebook, last year I was releasing many songs and I was also advertising a lot (without paying), and people suddenly listen to me, and message me, there is always a friend who wants to do a small party at the start.

Do you have good promotion tips for other musicians?
Normally I promote myself a lot on facebook, at first I sent my songs to my closest friends through inbox, and I asked them please to share people who might like my songs, sometimes it worked.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
Possibly my biggest challenge so far was to play on a stage with commercial music, and make people have a good time with my music, and yes, I got over it, it was difficult, because most people aren't used to listening to other types of music, that isn't the most popular, but I did it, mixing a popular song but in another version, or another remix, and little by little playing the "unknown tracks".

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
Listen to your idols, try to do remakes, watch many videos on YouTube if you do not have the opportunity to go to a music production school.

We meet again in one year. What has changed?
Yes, in a year my fan base will grow, plans for the release of my album, have more releases on other labels, and especially in a year I want to be part of La Clinica Recs, which is my favorite label. As a DJ I will be playing better on the turntables.
