Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is SKNE and I am a DJ/Producer from Vancouver, Canada. I have been a DJ for 10 years and I have really enjoyed being part of the wedding industry for the last 4. Being a DJ in the wedding industry has given me the skills to DJ almost any genre and mix tracks seamlessly. My favourite part of being a DJ is getting the crowd pumped and dancing. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a crowd of people dancing their faces off. I am currently a resident DJ at The Wedding Lot and at Relish the Pub.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My taste in music has changed over the years, but one thing has always stayed the same. I am always looking for new music and a new sound. From what I have seen, it's not that difficult to write a Top 40's hit, but I think it is hard to do something new, something raw and original. Some big influencers for me are artists like Flume, Tchami, ZHU, Ekali, Whethan, Falcons, Sweater Beats, Hoodboi, Baauer. I don't really subscribe or love any specific genre, for me I am looking for that new and creative sound.
What´s new right now?
I am currently a resident at Relish the Pub in downtown Vancouver where I DJ every Friday night. Also, I have a few new remixes and a new mix to celebrate my 24th birthday. You can listen to those down below.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?
Honestly, I am a fan of anyone who is out there making music, doing what they love. I have been lucky enough to meet some of my music idols, but there are many more I would love to meet. I would be stoked to meet Falcons from Athletixx, Flume, Baauer, and What So Not, Dillon Francis, Tchami, Ekali to name a few off the top of my head. These artists all seem pretty chill, and have a ton of experience under their belt.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
I think the biggest mistake I have made is being a perfectionist. I still make this mistake to this day. I don't put out music because I don't think it's good enough, or I procrastinate on a mix because it just didn't flow right, when I should be putting out music and getting my name out.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
My biggest challenge right now is finding my sound. I have mostly focused on djing the past ten years and producing music is something newer, and trying to find a sound I can call my own has been a struggle.

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?
“If I find a new track I like, I usually send it to my friends that I know will like it. Or another great way to share new music with my friends is listening to the new artist or track in the car.
