Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

My name is Taylor Quick (Velox) and I am a 19 year old DJ/Producer from the Isle of Wight, England. I've been DJ'ing for around two years now and over the last year have played many events. I mix drum and bass and focus my sets around what the underground DnB scene has to offer. I've recently posted a mix on my soundcloud showcasing a handful of songs that I've enjoyed playing at my recent events.

I also organise drum and bass events in my area and have recently started a live streaming page on Facebook with a few fellow DJ's called Dub Outlet. We've had the support of artists such as Too Greezey (who came down and played an exclusive set for us on our last stream), Agro and Leaf.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

From a young age music has been a part of my life as I was heading to festivals with my family from around 7 years old, and with my friends from around 14 till now. Growing up where I did on the Isle of Wight I was able to attend the Island's festival such as Isle of Wight festival and the legendary Bestival and my passion for music grew and grew. I started being obsessed with techno and house music and that's all me and my friends would ever talk about. I finally got a set of decks and proceeded to mix these genres. It wasn't until I was around 16 that I discovered the world of drum and bass and id say it was the best thing to happen to me. It was Bestival 2014 and I found myself watching acts such as the legendary Chase and Status and Andy C, and I remember feeling ecstatic by the music that they were playing.
I then went from mixing house and techno to dnb and when I turned 18 I found myself travelling the country with my mates, attending raves all over the country, I even found myself going to raves as far as Amsterdam! I've been listening to drum and bass, searching for new artists and building a collection of all kinds of dnb, and my personal playlist has grown ever since. I take inspiration from all kinds of dnb artists, from the liquid mind of Calibre, the production genius that is Break, the jungle vibes of Bladerunner and DJ Hybrid and even across the board to jump up artists like Turno. With that being said I believe the amount of sub-genres within dnb is the reason why I became so involved with it, because it's not a genre where everything sounds the same and all artists are similar, it brings real diversity and creativity to a scene and I believe dnb is only going to grow because of this.

What´s new right now?

My latest upload on soundcloud is my newest mix sampling some songs that the UK's dnb scene has to offer. I'm currently working on a few new tunes for a debut EP that I hope to be making later this year with some fellow artists and am set to be supporting Bladerunner later this week. I've supported Macky Gee last month but that was mainly a jump up event so I'm excited to be playing at an event which is focused around jungle rollers. I've got a few more events planned for later in the year with my team but unfortunately can't say any information yet as we're keeping it between us until nearer the date.
