Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is VNGL (pronounced like, “Angel”) , I am a singer, songwriter, artist, and model, who is super passionate about people and fitness, which is why I do what I do because I truly believe that music can save lives.
My first single is called “Bring Me In” and is coming out VERY soon! I’m super stoked about because I feel so blessed to have been able to collaborate with JackEL and the FVYDID Team.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
A lot of my influences have cultivated around women who have been unafraid to show vulnerability and genuine character. Artists like Lauryn Hill,Alicia Keys, Jojo, Jhene Aiko, Kehlani, and Alessia Kara are most definitely my top favorites to name off the bat. So overall, I don’t believe my influences has changed very much at all.
What´s new right now?
Just like I mentioned earlier, I am releasing my VERY FIRST SINGLE and am so excited to share a piece of my soul with everyone out there so don’t forget to follow my social media accounts for all of the latest news!

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?
I honestly love Kehlani and everything that she stands for. She’s so great at showcasing her emotions through song and the minute I heard her voice I was just HOOKED.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
If I could think of one mistake, it would just be that I wish I started sooner. So to everyone out there, whether you think you’re too old or too young, get rid of that thought NOW. It is never too late to start but if there’s something out there that makes you really happy, make sure to feed your soul and take action.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
Throughout my whole life it’s been a major struggle to simply be “me”. I felt like at such a young age that was never really good enough so I kept it from the world, but after years of reading, growing, and learning I’ve finally been able to accept that I am a person who will always be drawn to music. With that said, I just want to be able to inspire people of all ages through my personal life experiences.

How do you personally discover new music?

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?
“Oh heck yes! Whenever I’m listening to the radio or find music online that resonates with me that’s probably one of the first things I do is text my girlfriends about a new jam so that we can dance to it and vibe together.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
Just like how I feel about going with the flow of life, I really do believe that artists can take from that with their songwriting as well. Any emotion or any experience can be turned into a beautiful song if it’s not forced. Another tip would be to have a journal with you at all times just in case ideas come to you. For some reason I usually get most of my ideas in my car while I’m driving so I always make sure to have that journal with me.

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?
I think a useful tip would be to be open minded to suggestions from other people whether it be from family members or other artists-so never stop learning.

We meet again in one year. What has changed?
Over the next year I would like to say that I was able to perform for multiple stages in different states and out of country, working with some of my biggest influences.
