Read the Wiquex Interview below and share it on social media.
Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hi, my name is Pablo, I am from Madrid, Spain and I make electronic music under the name of WIQUEX. I was born in 1998.
I have always loved listening to music and I remember inventing new melodies inside my head while listening to the music on the radio at a very young age. I have been listening to a lot of electronic music since my older brother introduced it to me when I was 10, more or less, when the dubstep sound grew up, but I was truely hooked up to music when I discovered the youtube music channels. The firts song I heard was "Phoenix – Trying to be cool".
I have been learning to produce my own music for about 3 years now, and currently I try to do as many music as I can, always trying to do something new. I dont like to stick to one unique genre, but I do what I feel I like at the moment of starting a new track.
I am always looking for singers-songwriters to work with, if you are interested, send me a MD on Instagram for a quick response ?
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
When I was younger I used to listen to a lot of the 80´s and 90´s music, because it was almost the only thing that were playing on the radio. Later I listened a lot of rock tracks due to the fact one of my brother´s friends pass me that kind of music when I was given my first mp3 player. Then, I started listening to a lot of hip hop music, like eminem, dr dre, and all their friends… although I barely understood the lyrics, I loved the vibes. And finally, I started listening to all kinds of electronic music. Right now, I listen to everything I can, looking for inspirantion.
What´s new right now?
Currently I am making a lot of music. Mostly remixes because I like to work with nice vocals, although I have also done my own original tracks.
The last track I did was a remix for Tyler, The Creator – See You Again.

And also my most popular original track is called Always Mine.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?
I am superfan of a lot of artist. I became more and more fan as I continue learning. For example, I love music from: What So Not, Flume, Skrillex, Diplo, Ekali, Ghastly, Getter, Alison Wonderland, Yellow Claw, Joyryde, GTA and much more from monstercat label.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
I think there are no mistsakes when making music (except for not making all the sounds sound in key). My tip would be to learn how to mix your tracks propertly so they sound as profesional as possible. There are lots of profesional tutorials on youtube to learn.

Do you have good promotion tips for other musicians?
If you think your music is ready for the world to admire it, you can write a lot of emails to music blogs and also to youtube big accounts. Also I think, starting relationships with stablished artist may help you in the future, for example comenting on their instagram pictures (dont be annoying) trying to chat with them, maybe you can get their support like that.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
I think the best way to learn how to do something is just by doing it. But that wont help you much. After being learning by myself for almost 3 years, I have noticed that is better to learn things by parts. Deconstruct what you want to do (in this case, a track), in small tasks, for example, song structuring, mixing, sound design etc… and learn one thing at a time.

We meet again in one year. What has changed?
Last year I multipied by 7 the plays on my soundcloud, for next year I hope the increase follows as good as last year. And hopefully I do a collab with a bigger artists.
