Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hi! My producer name is Zux and I mainly make Hip-hop/rap beats. I can make other genres too like Future Bass or hard Trap but I focus on beats because making full Future Bass or trap tracks are too time consuming and It's harder to make money off of them. Here is one of my best beats that I've posted so far:

But like I said, I can make other types too and this is more of my style:

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

My father is a musician himself, so I grew up listening to his unique style of music and any pop songs on the radio. Growing up listening to music all the time made me really passionate about music but I didn't find my favorite genre until I was about 12. I don't remember how, but I found out about this dubstep band named Klaypex and fell in love. For the next 3 years I became a total Dubstephead, listening to hardcore producers like Barely Alive, Virtual Riot, and Graphyt (who was and still is my favorite). In middle school I joined this online music community named Audiotool and discovered the beat producers there. Meeting with some of those producers and listening to rap with my friends changed me over a couple years until I started making beats full time.

What´s new right now?

I have 5 fresh beats ready to go and I'm working on one an old school/Kendrick type beat right now. I try to post a new beat every week to my Soundcloud and Facebook page. I'm still a new producer and I am just starting to try to promote myself so It would be highly appreaciated if you could follow me on Facebook and Soundcloud.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?

I'm not really a superfan of anybody. I am a fan of many artists but I don't totally love any one artist.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

There are soooo many small mistakes I made when I started out but I guess the biggest one I made was not making full tracks. I would always make little 15-30 second blurbs that i didn't put much effort into and never finish them. This really hurt my fanbase beacuse noone really wants to listen to blurbs, they want to listen to full tracks. So I would advise new artists to try to make full tracks and put tons of effort into those tracks even if they take a long time so that people will want to listen to you regularly.
Usually when listening to music people will do something else so if you make little tracks they will have to constatly go back to their app to change the song and that interrupts their workflow. Also if a track is really short its hard to get into it and really enjoy it.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

My biggest challenge right now is finding good Ideas to start tracks. When I work on my beats I need a good sample or loop to get my mind working and my work flow started. But it's hard to create a good loop from scratch to work with and I need to work on that.

How do you personally discover new music?

Personally the main way I discover new music is by starting with a song I know on YouTube and letting it lead me wherever it wants with the "up next" thing. This also works on soundcloud.

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?

“If I am blown away by a track I just listened to I will usually post a screenshot of the track to my story on Messenger or Snapchat. I will also talk about it in conversation with my freinds.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?

Everyone's workflow is different, but one that works for me personally is starting with a sample or loop (a piano loop, an acapella, a guitar sample) and let your mind natually add things to it that will sound good. Then put down what you hear in your head. If you are good at sound design or just good at putting stuff down, then this will work well for you. Your mind will naturally create what sounds best so if you learn how to manipulate and put down what you have in your head, then you are golden.
Also, depending on your DAW, labeling and coloring things helps to organize everything and make creating your track easier and less boring.

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?

Most people cant get past that amazing 4-8 bar loop. You will be jamming to that loop and know it sounds great but you can't turn it into a full track. My advice to you is to separate that loop into its separate parts and spread them out. Then define an intro and try to lead it up into the drop. Once you have a good intro and a good drop, everything else usually comes easily.
